She is one of the first few dentists who specializes and practices microscopic dentistry under which treatments like Root canal therapy, minimally invasive dentistry, micro keyhole surgeries in case of a root infection, and Cosmetic dentistry can be done.

Dr. S. Hemamalathi has been trained extensively in treating with precision using microscopes, which eliminates any guesswork. She is known for her professional expertise, surgical artistry, outstanding results, minimizing failures, and the utmost level of patient care. She takes pride in the ability to help patients in smile designing, which has transformed not only smiles but also the lives of many.

Turning points

Committed to providing society with the highest quality dental care and education, Dr. S. Hemamalathi started her academy "Academy of Advanced Dentistry" in 2011. Transforming into the role of the first female dentist in India to start an academy for those who were struggling to restart their career and to master the skills in the required field of interest. The academy is well known for its theoretical and practical knowledge it offers in different specialities in dentistry.

Dr. S. Hemamalathi is also the co-founder of the Smile and Glow Dental Healthcare Pvt.Ltd. She has six best paper awards and more than 18 National and 5 International publications. She is also an invited speaker at many national conferences.

Education

Dr. S. Hemamalathi pursued her first undergraduate program at Tamil Nadu Government Dental College in the year 1996. She is deeply committed to staying on the leading edge of dental technology and therefore continued to expand her knowledge in the field of dentistry.

She acquired her masters in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics in 2001 from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University. She was the university topper and was conferred the Best Post Graduate Student award by the Indian Endodontic Society. She also received the prestigious "Dr. T.D. Chugh" award for presenting the best scientific paper.

Milestones

Soon after post-graduation in 2001, Dr. S. Hemamalathi has worked in the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics in Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital as professor and trained postgraduates and undergraduates from 2001- 2012. She was appointed as an examiner for BDS and MDS exams in various dental colleges and universities in India.

Her passion to teach has motivated her to provide training to BDS graduates for the All India and Tamilnadu MDS entrance exams and also for doctors appearing in overseas examination in UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and other gulf countries which has helped many dentists achieve their dreams to pursue their careers abroad.

She has conducted several hands-on workshops in national conferences in India and also microscope training workshops for postgraduates in many reputed dental colleges in India.
