KEY HOLE SURGERIES
As the name suggests Key Hole surgery involves very minimal work area through which the surgery can be done resulting in faster healing of the surgical area.
Key hole surgeries are mostly done for flap and peri-apical surgery. In the conventional method of surgery with manual instruments the window through which the surgery is done will be in size according to the field required to work, but since the instrument we use are of comparatively larger size, the size of incision, the bony window through which the surgery is carried out will also be larger to accommodate the instruments therefore the healing period is longer.
With the advent of microscopes, micro-surgical instruments, piezotomes and newer ultrasonic instruments, it is possible to do surgeries through a smaller incision and a bony window. This reduces the damage done to the healthy tissues and bone and the debridement offered by the ultrasonics is unparalleled to the conventional methods. It results in quicker healing.

This newer technique can be used to treat various procedures like
PIEZO SURGERY
Piezo Surgery is a new and advanced technique used in minimally invasive dentistry. It involves the usage of ultrasonic vibration with a modulated controlled frequency that ranges between 22,000-35,000 Hz.
With the traditional/ conventional use of manual instruments for surgical procedures, unintended tissue or bone damage happens, but with the use of the piezotome there will be extreme precision with better intra-operative control resulting in painless, complete debridement and faster wound healing.
Since this has an option of adjusting the frequency to work on either hard or soft tissue there is no damage to the adjacent non-surgical tissue.
